Director Jane Linter was practically born a fashionista growing up in London surrounded and influenced by the fashion & entertainment business, which included her parents who were both successful stage performers and musicians. Her journey to becoming a Producer/Director took her from London to New York City in 1990, and finally led her to Hollywood in 1993. Her experience in dealing with red carpet high caliber special events and interviewing “A” list celebrities in pressurized situations is what makes her the excellent career-driven woman she is.

However, like any other career in entertainment, her journey did not come obstacle-free. But with luck and good timing, she found herself doing what she loves best: Producing and Directing.“Fly fearlessly,” says Linter. “Never take no for an answer and believe in yourself when all others doubt or don’t understand you – particularly men!.”Pushing relentlessly through the “no’s” of her career path, Linter recently experienced one of her greatest successes. Her documentary feature, Peace, Love and Bikinis! won the “Best Screen Craft” Award at the New York Independent Film Festival and is now under consideration to become a reality TV series. “I love film!” Linter exclaims enthusiastically.. “I love to watch it. Hear about it. Figure out plots. Look at interesting Directors. Find new story angles. And I want to make another film soon!” But before her interest in film and style production, Linter had a passion for dance. She received a scholarship to Arts Educational Performing Arts Center in England, and after graduating she began her career at 18 as a dancer/singer/choreographer by working for Virgin Records in the U.K. She expanded her musical career by traveling throughout Europe, including Spain, France, Portugal and Italy on tour with bands, and she also got the chance to perform in many commercials and music videos. Then, through a fellow choreographer, Linter got her big break in the film industry when she began working for the infamous director Ken Russell. She choreographed complicated and specific scenes for him, in his adaptation for HBO TV’s “Prisonors of Honor” a true historic story with Richard Dreyfuss and the late reknowned Oliver Reed. With all her different passions, Linter says that an important thing to have also is “a collection of supportive friends that are not in the entertainment industry, who can help when you need advice and offer a different perspective.”She first started out in the fashion world while working in London when a chance opportunity came up through a fashion stylist to enter the glamorous world of hair/beauty/fashion industry by becoming a Choreographer and Stage Director for Wella Inc.. as well as Head of Productions for Sebastian Internationalional here in Los Angeles. Here she began her first entrance into the fashion business, by choreographing fashion shows for the wildly successful Alternative Hair Show. That love of style and fashion led her to NYC and on to the success of both her company, StyleZoneTV, and her film Peace, Love and Bikinis!

She started her own production company here in the States, in 2003, StyleZoneTV, which specializes in fashion, beauty and style production, with partners in Toronto and London. During this time she worked for BAFTA, LA as a Producer for the Britannia Awards, Tribute to Steven Spielberg and George Lucas and HBO. Earlier this year she was surprised and honored to be invited by her good friend and fashion photographer Award winning Director David LaChapelle to be featured in his art gallery exhibition in NYC, and worldwide entitled “Awakened” which was shot underwater in a glass tank. “Being underwater and back on the other side of the camera felt good for a change!” said an amused Linter. Her main goal however, for StyleZoneTV this year is a big rehaul and re-launch of the video streaming website and online blog, to get the online system bigger and better. She spends a large portion of her workday designing and digitizing her web-site and booking press events with her camera and journalist crews in and around Hollywood at special celebrity ‘A’ list red carpet events and fashion shows.“We’re covering more and more events and gaining more and more exposure,” she says proudly. “By the end of this year we plan to increase our advertisers by 70%, and we’ve partnered up with Galrilla and other partners to cross-promote each other’s websites.”Linter is also hoping to finalize her deal with the television network and go into production by next Spring with her new reality series, based on her film and entitled Designer Divas!

When she is not busy flying back and forth from L.A. to New York and London, Linter loves to take drives out of Hollywood to different parts of the surrounding California countryside for relaxation. She also produces and directs fashion editorial photoshoots in her spare time, which she finds “very creative and inspiring”, for magazines like Flaunt., and Ocean Drive and Zink in New York. Linter, always a high achiever with big goals, was ecstatic recently when she landed the prime accolade and position of Directing for Vogue magazine, producing and directing their first ever fashion ipod casts for Old Navy on their new website Vogue Video Fashion on Demand. Although Linter gives off a distinct bustling city-girl vibe, she points out that she loves her life in California and “wouldn’t change it for the world.”……and a piece of advice to those aspiring to become as successful in the fashion industry as her? “Always go with your gut and follow your dreams to the bitter end,” emphasizes Linter. “God will always come through for you.”
